Pam Collins entered the world of insurance in 1989 as an auditor in the insurance practice of KPMG. Her auditing clients included both traditional insurance companies as well as alternative insurance entities such as RRGs, reciprocals, and captives. This broad client base facilitated Pam developing a strong foundation of knowledge about the insurance industry. It was an exciting time in the industry as the alternative market was beginning to take a noticeable bite into the traditional market. Recognizing a need in the industry to help insurance executives explore the feasibility of alternative insurance products with creative risk transfer mechanisms, Pam founded Collins Consulting in 1992.
Serving a unique niche in the consulting market, the team at Collins Consulting has successfully brought clarity and guidance to their clients over the last two decades, enabling them to make and execute difficult decisions. Serving boards, owners and regulators, engagements have covered a wide range of unique objectives. Pam’s excitement for the industry has continued to grow as she watched her clients add millions of dollars to their bottom-line or reach a variety of other operational and financial goals as the result of the efforts of her team.
In 2007 Pam started following the English Premier League. She began attending international sports conferences for executives, studying the sports industry by reading books, articles and taking courses, and with the help of her team building extensive databases of sports data to look for emerging trends and opportunities. Five years later she made a commitment that she was going to find a way to combine the business and insurance skills of her Collins team with her knowledge of the structure of sporting leagues, player contracts, fair play rules and other areas unique to the business of sports, in order to expand Collins Consulting into the sporting industry.
